Raising the Bar for Sustainable Green Living

Winterbourne Fields is a new inclusive community south of Dunkirk, just 10 minutes from Faversham and Canterbury.

The destination village will set new standards for how to live sustainably; providing much needed homes with green open space and facilities to serve everyone’s daily needs on the doorstep of every home.

Developer Shaptor has submitted a planning application for a new community at Winterbourne Fields to Swale Borough Council. It will deliver a new sustainable community of up to 1,815 homes on poor-quality, agricultural land, south of Dunkirk and the A2.

Affordable Housing and Village Life for All

Winterbourne Fields will include 545 affordable homes that will bring the opportunity for village life to people on a wide range of incomes.

Infrastructure Enhancements

The development will feature a primary school, medical and sports facilities, open spaces, local shops, and improved bus and highway networks, including new A2 slip roads.

Support for Neighbouring Villages

The new infrastructure will benefit nearby Dunkirk and Boughton-under-Blean, creating a cluster of interdependent communities with shared retail, leisure, and employment opportunities.

Commitment to Sustainability

Winterbourne Fields will be a sustainable community with a 10% biodiversity net gain, electric vehicle infrastructure, and a walkable neighbourhood design to address the climate emergency.

Winterbourne Fields will:

Deliver a new primary school.

Provide a space for medical facilities and healthcare services.

Enhance the protection of the ancient woodland and local wildlife through substantial green areas.

Create ways to get around that do not rely on car usage.

Build new homes, affordable and retirement living.
